SCIA Engineer 17 Sneak Preview

For years, SCIA Engineer has been powered by significant investments in R&D and innovation, incorporating research, customer feedback and the use of advanced technologies.

SCIA Engineer For the first time ever, the upcoming version 17 of SCIA Engineer is bringing specific usability enhancements our customers collectively selected.

In the fall of 2016, we conducted a survey among the SCIA Engineer users with a maintenance contract, asking for their feedback on the top improvements they would like to see in SCIA Engineer. We promised that the top three most voted enhancements would be included in the version 17. And here they are:

Better readability of text in labels and result values in the 3D window,
Ability to run the analysis only for selected load cases and combinations,
Single-click export of the Table Input and Table Results to Microsoft Excel.

We didn’t end there, of course. The soon-to-be-released version will bring many improvements and new functionalities. We focused on significantly improving usability and boosting the speed by leveraging cutting-edge technologies. Here is a preview of some of what you can look forward to:

  • The transparent workflow for the design of concrete members, introduced for 1D members in version 16, has been extended to cover also 2D members, long-term deflections and punching,
  • The faster than ever steel design that also provides economic value - a result of the latest research in the classification of sections,
  • Expanded options for load generation, utilizing tributary areas, for faster and easier load verification,
  • Seamless task management through the bim+ integration
  • and much more…
