Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute 2012 Convention and National Bridge Conference - Nashville (USA)

Event date:
Saturday, 29 September, 2012 (All day) to Tuesday, 2 October, 2012 (All day)

Nemetschek Engineering will participating in two educational sessions at the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute 2012 Convention and National Bridge Conference, Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Sunday, September 30, 2012 the Nemetschek Engineering Group will participate in a Precast BIM Project Demonstration. The Nemetschek Engineering Group along with Nemetschek Vectorworks, Tekla and other software vendors will demonstrate their compliance with the latest Precast National BIM Standard. The demonstration will illustrate how, using Open BIM,  users can create an integrated workflow for the design of a typical precast parking structure.  It will demonstrate the successful model exchanges between Architectural BIM, Structural Analysis, Concrete Modeling/Detailing, and Project, Plant and Material Resource planning software.

Monday, October 1, 2012, Nemetschek Scia will host an educational session on, “ADVANCES IN AUTOMATIC OPTIMIZATION OF CIVIL STRUCTURES”. This talk introduces the concept of automatic optimization of civil structures, and the pros and cons of various optimization methods. It describes how computers are being used to blend these various methods and help engineers leverage the power of the computer to derive optimal solutions to practical and complex design problems. Real-world applications of these optimization methods are provided, and the benefits documented.
