Hasselt, 7 October 2020 – After three years of successful collaboration on the French and BeNeLux market, SCIA – a company of the global group Nemetschek – extends its partnership with IDEA StatiCa and becomes the official reseller of its code-checking software for steel connections and concrete details in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In 2017, SCIA and IDEA StatiCa joined forces to introduce the IDEA StatiCa Steel connections calculation software on the French market. The collaboration came as no surprise, given the striking complementarity of the software with SCIA Engineer. Following this success, SCIA first became the official reseller of IDEA StatiCa 'Concrete', 'Detail', and 'Prestressing' in France.  Shortly afterwards, the partnership was further extended and SCIA became the official reseller of these product also in the SCIA’s home market - BeNeLux.

This collaboration is of great importance for both partners, given the possibilities offered by IDEA StatiCa to calculate complex connections (which are commonplace for steel) and reinforcement design for unusual types of reinforced concrete and prestressed concrete elements.

SCIA can now deliver its customers with the industry-leading solution for structural analysis – SCIA Engineer – integrated with the best-in-class solution for steel connection design. Also, for concrete (including pre- and posttensioning), SCIA now provides a superior stand-alone solution for fast check of structures.

The intelligent integration of the two software systems reduces the time spent on projects, minimises the risk of error and thus reduces the final cost.

The collaboration between SCIA and IDEA StatiCa is thus growing closer, extending to the United Kingdom and Ireland for both steel and concrete solutions, benefiting all customers.

In the interest of ensuring the highest standards and quality of experience to all its customers, SCIA offers customer support for IDEA StatiCa software through its usual support channels.

“For years, SCIA has been working with IDEA to help customers doing better and faster calculations in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany. I am thrilled that we can jointly add more value to our UK and Ireland customer base because it is our mission to help structural engineers to work faster and smarter every day.” - Jean-François Remy, Chief Sales Officer, SCIA
