Watch a recommended workflow regarding design of steel halls

In this webinar, we will explain the need of a stability analysis in order to obtain the αcr value of the structure as described in art. 5.2.1 of EN1993-1-1.

Then, we will demonstrate a 2nd order analysis, which influences the obtained internal forces and consequently also the results of steel code checks (ULS). Once the steel code checks are done, we will do the necessary optimisations for the failing members within the structure. This optimisation is done easily using the AutoDesign functionality that searches automatically for the optimal cross-section for the imposed loading.

Finally, the deflections will also be validated via the serviceability limit check.

She is responsible for steel, composite, timber and aluminium design as well as scaffolding. She is also the advocate for users in Germany, United Kingdom and the Nordic countries. Before SCIA, her PhD dissertation at the KULeuven in Belgium addressed cold-formed steel: namely, the increased load-bearing capacity of innovative, build-up solutions from very thin profiles.
