Steel design

sensd.01 - Steel design

Steel Design

The Steel Design module offers an interactive tool for section and stability design of steel members. From section classification to interaction checks for the various load effects on a member. ULS checks are executed according to EC3, AISC 360, SIA 263, and NBR 8800 codes.

Design of cold-formed steel members according to AISI S100

sensd.02 - Cold-formed steel design EC3

Steel Design

The cold-formed steel design module for EN 1993 is an extension to the module sensd.01.en Steel design. It enables you to design cold-formed steel elements according to the European standards EN 1993-1-3, EN 1993-1-5, and EN 1993-1-1.

Design of cold-formed steel members according to AISI S100

sensd.02 - Cold-formed steel design IBC

Steel Design

The steel design module Cold-Formed Steel design for the IBC enables the design of cold-formed steel members according to the North American specification AISI NAS S100: 2016. Both section and stability checks are supported as well as special purlin design checks.

Steel fire resistance design

sensd.05 - Steel fire resistance design

Steel Design

The Steel fire resistance design module provides stress and stability checks for steel members under fire conditions. The checks are performed according to EN 1993-1-2, SIA 263 or NEN 6072, both in the resistance and in the temperature-time domain. The check also follows the recommendations published in ECCS N°111.

Scaffolding checks

sensd.06 - Scaffolding checks

Steel Design

Outstanding management of large scaffolding projects with detailed modelling of all scaffolding parts. Large deformations, non-linear stability and various other types of nonlinearities. Specific checks for members and couplers according to EN 12810 and EN 12811, in combination with EC3 and EC9.

Lateral-Torsional Buckling (LTB) (2nd order)

sensd.07 - Lateral-Torsional Buckling (LTB) (2nd order)

Steel Design

The sensd.07 module sets up a bidirectional link with the Frilo BTII solver, where FEM calculations are performed using elements with 7 degrees of freedom per node. This type of element formulation correctly captures warping in the member and any lateral-torsional buckling (LTB) that may occur.

Steel connection design and drawings

sensd.10 - Steel connection design and drawings

Steel Design

Accurate design of rigid frame connections according to Eurocode 3, taking into account simultaneous action of strong- and weak-axis bending, shear forces and axial forces. Expert System for fast selection of the right solution for the geometry and arrangement of the components in a steel connection.

Serviceability checks for steel members

Serviceability checks for steel members

Steel Design

Serviceability design criteria are important for people's comfort, as well as the integrity of separation walls, façades and other non-load-bearing elements and finishes. This is why we put an additional focus on this aspect of the design of steel members and we extended the existing check of Relative deflection.
