How to disable the notification about new SCIA Engineer versions/patches?

If a SCIA Engineer user is not using the latest version or patch of the software, by default there is a notification shown about this in the software itself (if the user is connected to the internet).

It is possible to disable these kinds of notifications, by changing the Registry. This way the thread which connects to the SCIA servers and downloads information about current software version, will not start.

The steps to be followed:

  1. Go to the Start menu of Windows and search for “regedit”, next start “regedit.exe”.
  2. Go to “Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SCIA\ESA\15.2\UpdateData\Config”
Create here a new item of the type DWORD with the name “DisableUpdate” and insert a value different from 0.

  3. Go to “Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SCIA\ESA\15.2\UpdateData\Patch”.
Set the value for “DisableNotification” to something different than 0.
Set the value for “ShowNotification” to 0.

After a restart of SCIA Engineer, the notification about a new patch/version of SCIA Engineer will be no longer shown.
